So, I’ve adopted the latest craze… I am now on Twitter.
nicholasm79 is the name over there…
If anyone reading this has a username, please leave a reply with that name and I’ll add you, or you add me.
Nothing of note going on lately. Work, work, sleep, all that jazz.
Have discovered a cheap second-run movie theatre here in the city. You get a film, a popcorn and a drink all for $4. And, you get refills on said concessions. Not bad!
I’ll get around to doing lots more “Flix” episodes soon when I can find time for such. (See, Kris, I haven’t forgotten that idea at all.)
Off to work, TTFN.
I just realized I hadn’t updated this thing in a while.
So, after three weeks here in Knoxville, everything seems to be going OK. No monetary problems to speak of so far. I have found a temporary job until something in my field opens up. I’m not at liberty to say who it’s for right now, but let’s just say it’s a cashier job for a major retailer who likes a certain color of the rainbow.
Oh, and how about those ETSU Bucs! Both the men’s and women’s teams won the A-Sun yesterday, and are going to the big dance! Whee!
More to come…
A new pad for Greg and I has been secured.
It is located in Extreme West Knoxville, a stone’s throw from Farragut.
Here is a link to the photo, courtesy Google Earth…
Let’s see that satellite imagery…
And under the other, under a cut, is a view of the exterior…
Greg has officially been hired today as Associate Producer at WATE TV-6 in Knoxville. Details forthcoming.
Which means, of course, we’re on the move and I *have* to find *any* work I can down there.
It’s looking like Greg is going to get a job at a station in Knoxville as Associate Producer in the newsroom.
And there’s no job for me. No openings. No hope.
This worry inside me is making me so sick at my stomach, it’s almost unbearable.
You’ll be happy to hear about this DVD coming out on April 7th
News from me, later…
I have a couple of new script ideas. I feel now’s the time to start taking care of some serious writing. Who knows, maybe it might lead somewhere.
Wish me luck.
So, how does it feel to be a graduate? Given the current circumstances of the world… it’s not that great. The job market is tough and shows no signs of getting any better anytime soon. I often ask myself, how does one find a ray of hope in this trying time? The answer is simple: at least we have each other. I know that sounds like a cornball line, but it’s true. We all have to pull each other through this tough time.
Now, to the ceremony itself last Saturday. Friday night I got a stomach bug somewhere. Saturday I was nauseous and diarrheal. I barfed during the ceremony. That’s right, I barfed during the ceremony. Not the most dignified of moments, that’s for sure. But, I take it in stride. With as much hell as I went through with numerous departments of this university, I can say one thing: it could be considered payback of sorts. Mind you, it wasn’t intentional, but it was kind of fitting and fulfilling, nonetheless.
Still no word on that job… I’m going to call about it the first of next week to see what’s going on. Knowing my luck, Bonten probably cut the position to save on the stupid budget, but we’ll see.
TTFN.
